career search: where do i start?

Im 18 and my parents are pressuring me to go to college/university. my dad wants me to go into the health sector because thats where there is always the most jobs. ive always been interested in peoples patterns and behaviours, but other than that, i have no special skills or strong areas. im pretty adverage. what would you say is the best website for me to start surfing for what might suit me? there are so many sites i dont know where to start,,, any answers help. thank you!

In the US, I start with the Occupation Outlook Handbook, in Canada I would try the Career Handbook Human Resources and Skills Development Canada Career Handbook http://www5.hrsdc.gc.ca/noc/english/CH/2001/Welcome.aspx The Career Handbook encodes information which I found terse and hard to read, I think the Career Handbook is more complete but your may want to first look in the US handbook to get some general information and an overview of careers and then look for the similar descriptions in the Career Handbook. Then again you might be more familar than me with some of the career titles in Canada.
