- You need to be gainfully employed a minimum of 32 hours a week. You fill out an application and get on the waiting list which averages about 3 yrs.
- You have to work at least 35 hours a week and you are required to collect child support for both children.
- Be working and be on child support. Are you really single? Or are you claiming to be single but, with the father and just not married?
- I know some Housing Authority jurisdictions have emergency housing situations where it could be less than 2 years but the average wait for a voucher is 5 to 10 years in bigger cities. Having children and being pregnant are not emergencies. But contact your local Housing Authority and ask. Your income must be below the limits for your county, you must be employed so you can pay rent, you cannot have felony convictions and there are other rules and regs. You can take a voucher to any property owner who is willing to rent to you and you can go anywhere in the US where there is an opening and deposit your voucher. The apartment size depends on family size. With 2 children you probably would get a 2-bdrm apt.
