How do I deal with craigslist customers?

So I've never used craigslist before, and I don't really know how to deal with selling items to other people. But recently, I put an ad for a sofa on craigslist and now I have 6 replies to the ad. How do i choose which customer to stop by and see the couch? What is the usual procedure to successfully selling an item on craigslist? Thanks!

1. i usually go down the list in order of the date/time of their reply. first reply gets first chance. procedure? cash and carry, i would assume.
2. The ideal situation would be for you to put the couch on your driveway for 2 hours on Saturday and tell all callers that they can see it without even getting out of their cars. That makes them relax since they might feel uneasy entering your home. It also stops 6 strangers from entering your house (the police would not think that was a good idea). Generally, furniture buyers go into the house and sit on the couch. if they like it, they pay cash and take it away. Most CL buyers are wonderful people and just want to buy a nice couch at a good price. Don't take a check or money order or cashiers check.
3. Couch goes outside at a specific time for a specific duration. Email all six people telling them this. They'll also need your address and your phone number in case you miss them. At that point, if you have still have more than one person offering the couch, the person who gets it is determined by who's offering the highest amount followed by who emailed first if they are offering the same amount. You want to encourage a bidding war without letting them know that you are encouraging a bidding war.
