Can anyone recommend affordable housing around Charlottesville, VA?

I may be moving there for work and most of the housing in Charlottesville, for single family homes starts in the mid $200's. Are there any nice areas close to shopping, grocery stores, etc. where the home prices are more affordable? Thanks!

1. Are you aware that Yahoo Answers is not just a nation-wide forum, but an INTERNATIONAL forum for questions? Do you see any other questions asking about housing in Podunck, VA? That's because out of the hundreds of thousands of people who see this, there are maybe 10 who have even HEARD of Podunck, VA let alone know dick about the housing market, or for Christ's sake, grocery stores there. Go to their local town website, subscribe to the newspaper, go to realtor.com if you are really serious about this and stop wasting people's time.
2. Try north in Madison county or east in Page county. C'vill is too expensive for ANYONE to live in; but most everything is a drive to the next mall.
