Why do liberals confuse Federal Government Jobs with Local and State Gov Jobs?
Teachers are state and local jobs. Fireman and Police are state and local jobs Roads and Infrastructure are private jobs not federal jobs even though they may be paid with some federal dollars. The federal government should have no hand in paying for these jobs anyways. The states can tax and spend without the federal redistribution of funds. Roberto I said that if you read the question. The explosion of Federal employees does not include them. They are private sector employees.

- Why do conservatives confuse liberalism with communism?
- Union thugs tell them there is no difference.
- Here in Texas, less than 3% of school funding comes from fderal sources. The rest comes from local ad-valorem taxes and state sales tax revenue.
- Private contractors are hired to maintain infrastructure. Where do you think the money comes from to pay them? States continue to cut taxes to the point where they can't balance their budgets. This has happened all over the country. What planet do you live on?
- Exactly, which is why a federal shutdown isn't going to cause chaos like they say it will. They are trying to brainwash the people into thinking the elderly and children will starve to death and people will all go broke, but how quick they forget when THEY shut down the government for 26 days back in 1995. The even funnier thing is, this shutdown is THEIR fault since THEY didn't propose and pass a budget back in October of 2010 when THEY had full control of Congress.
- Politicians make no distinction to mislead their moronic constituency. They fall for it every time.
- the same reason some uninformed conservatives do...
- I seriously doubt if a small state like Wyoming or Nebraska could maintain their roads w/o federal money
- Is this somehow different than many conservatives automatically think that every State or the Federal Government offers the same "benefits" as the teachers in Wisconsin etc? It's funny when conservatives start calling for "pensions" to be reduced for Federal Employees....NEWS FLASH chumps, it already happened many many years ago. The day when Federal Employees were given 80%+ pensions based upon their pay in the last year came and went long ago. The Federal Government shifted to a 401K system (called the TSP) with some matching contributions (up to a certain percentage in a year).
