Why do companies post jobs on their websites but not on Monster or careerbuilder?

Good Afternoon, I was just wondering, why do some companies post jobs on their website only but not on monster or careerbuilder or any other job site? Hiring managers or HR people please respond. CA

1. It's to advertise within the company or people who know employees. Also, there are websites that will scan their website and post it for them...for free. Posting on monster and cb requires money, but sites like indeed.com will probably do it for free.
