List Only

What are some good books for a 15 year old?

Next year I'll be a Sophomore, and I currently have a list of books to buy. I Am The Messenger by Markus Zusak World War Z by Max Brooks and Halo Cryptum by Greg Bear -I want at least 1-2 more books to buy, any suggestions? I like realistic fiction with a good plot but any book with an amazing plot and story is good for me. I have and read all the Harry Potter books.

  4. I just read three good books actually: The Road - Cormac McCarthy The Road is a book based on the apocalypse. It follows a father and son as they trek across the wastelands that was once the US before the bombs fell. It was an ok read in my opinion, only about a quarter way into the book do you really start to become interested as you learn more about the boy and his father. Its pretty intense at moments, but mostly there is little dialog and lots of imagery. In fact, the imagery was so good I felt as though I was traveling with the boy and his father. This book has adult themes and language so idk if that affects anything but otherwise I enjoyed it. Lies - Michael Grant (3rd book in Micheal Grant's GONE series) This a series but I'm up to the third book so instead I give you a basic lowdown of the first book (don't worry no spoilers here). The plot behind the GONE series is that one day in Perdido Beach, California (setting of the book) all people over the age of 15 just suddenly disappear. Kids and teenagers are left to wonder what is going on, and a forcefield surrounds the area cutting the kids off from the rest of the world. The book centers mostly around 14-year-old Sam, who you will learn more about in the book. As the first days go, the kids are left to make law and order and other kids begin developing super powers of all sorts. Chaos ensues later in the book and overall this is a very suspenseful read. Very good series though you should defiantly consider it. The Art Of Racing In The Rain - Garth Stein This one I read most recently. It focuses around a dog (the book is told from the dog's point of view) who's owner is slowly working towards becoming a great professional race-car driver. The story itself is very good, and you will find yourself helplessly hooked about halfway through the book. In other words this book will leave you dying to know what happens next. Very good dramatic read, you should defiantly get this one.
