How can I stop my allergies and what is causing them?

Ok, Im known to be allergic to dust, pollen, smoke, and stuff like that. I also have a mild case of asthma that my doctor says is gone but still acts up from time to time, but the past few years, where and how I have my allergies has been slightly abnormal. First of all, I would like to point out that our house currently contains one dog that cant seem to realize pooping and peeing in the house causes problems(a poodle), One very well-behaved cat(Japanese Bobtail), and one smoking 50+ year old mother. Im not really sure if this counts as a pet, but Im adding it to my list anyways because it sometimes triggers my asthma, and sometimes Im worried about her health to. Anyway, none of these really seem to be even one of the things that make my nose run, tingle, explode, burst into flames, or cause any other symptoms other than annoyance, and sometimes collect dust.. Well that is accept for the twenty five chinchillas (actually its two chinchillas, it just seems like twenty five because one of them refuses to behave or not engage in an all out battle with the other, and this can make them very hard to impossible to properly take care of) that may be contributing to my symptoms a little bit, but I cant exactly take them outside or put them up on cregs list and expect them to be gone, and I cant really seem to be able to pinpoint what it is about them that keeps on causing my nose to erupt. I used to think it was their hay, which caused my mom to not let me get them hay for a while, which caused me to realize that it’s not just the hay. Also, even know it’s not just the hay, my allergies are somehow still seasonal until I start rummaging around in that bag of dry, green grass. If you haven’t noticed, I have only been talking about indoor stuff; this is due to the fact that while I do have symptoms outside, many of them get a whole lot worse when I get inside. For example, when I am outside, my nose is a bit runny, feels a bit stuffy, and I sneeze about every 8-10 seconds, but when I go inside to get a drink of water or blog about my opinion on global warming, my nose turns into a volcano for a while, and later my left nostril fills up with nose pumice and both breathing and erupting become a pain in the nose as well as a total hassle. And my symptoms aren’t limited to just normal things. Everyone knows (or at least should know) that the day I have a normal life, a normal mind, and a normal body is the day the world is engulfed in a hurricane made entirely of my mucus. I have to be the guy with the WEIRD SYMPTOMS that NOBODY UNDERSTANDS such as a very weak cough that almost isn’t a cough because it sounds more like some sort of creepy-ass ape like grunt, rashes of which I can get all over my body just by sitting down on the carpet FULLY DRESSED, and itches of which can be very unsafe to scratch because they are INSIDE MY BODY just to name afew. So yeah, I hope you aren’t as confused as I am about this, and if you are, I hope you at least had a good laugh at my poor sentence structure, which I am going to assume is what’s making you so confused. If not that, I hope its something reasonable like the fact that I can clean dust out of the ionizer without making a sneeze or something like that... *I HAVE NO IDEA WHAT FACE TO PUT HERE FACE* Well, I will now leave you with the following questions of which I have laid out in a fashion that I think is slightly more organized than the jumble of words I just puked in your face afew minutes ago.. By the way, that washes out with tooth paste, soap, and baking soda incase you already made plans to take that to the dry cleaners or the Laundromat or something. What the F#%& is going on? Is this normal to any degree? Does anybody have any idea what could be making this happen? Does anybody understand what I just said? Is my house trying to kill me? ///_O Refer to title Do you have any questions? Does anything need more detail here? If so you can put them in your answer and I will be happy to answer them when I get the chance. ?????? Profit? Well, bye.. *snotsplosion* Oh, I think I also forgot to add that I have post nasal drip or whatever its called and my mom says that may be what’s causing my strange cough, and I have had all of this for afew years so I don't think its anything life threatening. I have eye allergies to but I have this weird thing that I soak in water and put on my eye which helps allot, so I think Im good in that department. also, I think someone by the name of "." asked If there were times when I do not have symptoms, and also suggested I try to calm down, and I have to say that for some reason, attempting to do so has helped a bit so far. Also, I was watching a horror movie a while ago and I didn’t feel anything when I got scared, so I think that if my mind is to preoccupied with complex human emotions to care about the battle in my nose, it can no longer support the troops as well as it needs to for a violent allergic reaction to occur and I am left with a slightly stuffy nose again. I also think he asked if i breathe through

  1. Well you can go see a doctor to give you something to help you with your allergies. It can be something in the air your smelling or it just happens cause you were born with allergies. I have it too so don't feel alone.
  2. Do you have any times when you do not suffer with these problems, ie your nose is completely unblocked and you feel fine? if so, what environmental factors are involved? I would say you number one problem is dust and air pollution. You need to air your place out, clean the hard floors/shampoo the carpets, was the curtains and anything else that is nicotine stained. Are you a nose or mouth breather, as in which do you breath through most? if you breathe through your mouth a lot that can cause your nasal passages to become blocked very quickly (google nose breathing). You also seem a bit erratic, if you don't mind me saying (no offense), learning several relaxation techniques will help you keep calm and things in general will be more controllable. Good luck!
  3. Hi you have allergic disorders. Due to allergic condition you are experiencing runny nose, sneezing and blocked nose. Due to allergic condition you are getting difficult in breathing. Why it is happening just giving some brief knowledge. there one type of cells called the mast cells. Those mast cells are distributed every where like on your skin, inside your nose the lining membrane (nasal mucosa), on the lining of your respiratory tube, on the inner lining of your food pipe. Those mast cells contain many granules called histamine. When those mast cells come in contact with some allergen/antigen/some foreign proteins that comes from dust, pollens, animal feathers, pets hairs, some food, drugs, some chemicals, that flare up and those histamines releases. Those histamines causes allergic type symptoms. In the skin it causes blotches and rashes that itch a lot. in nasal mucous membrane it causes tingling sensation with runny nose sneezing and sometimes stuffed nose. In respiratory tract it causes mucous membrane swelling and mucous discharge that causes bronchial tube constriction and result difficult breathing asthma. So the important things are to avoid such antigens which you are feeling initiating your allergy symptoms. Other treatment include anti histaminic drugs and anti leukotriene drugs. Montelukast (Na) is oral leukotriene receptor antagonist. Blocks part of the inflammatory process associated with an asthma attack and thus helps to reduce swelling or constriction of airways. But for detail consult with your doctor and start treatment. It is curable. Hope this wil be helpful. Dr.Rangadhar
