Which is a better operatng system?

I am trying to find which operating system is a better choice the 98, xp, or the new vista. Also, i am looking to buy one that is cheap so, do u know of any places, or person that is selling one. I am trying to put together me a computer and trying to find some deals and is there another site in houston similar to craigslist. Give me any good sites.

1. 98 NO WAY! (but cheap I would think) Vista- Many people bad mouth this OS but personally, I kinda like it though I only use it at home. XP- probobly the best choice of the 3 you mentioned, certainly the most drivers available and you can probobly get a "legal" version on ebay for no too much

3. xp is the most stable currently, they're still cleaning up vista.
4. 98 - Too old, very little software compatible XP - Quite stable and most software works with it Vista - All the new stuff works with it, but it isn't very user friendly I would recommend XP
