Parents, how do you feel about the verdict in the Casey Anthony trial?

Well, unless you have been living under a rock, you must know she was found not guilty. I just don't understand. All the lies she told (non-existant "Zanny" the nanny, her job that she had been fried from long ago, etc), the searches on her computer for "neck breaking" and "chloroform", her failure to report Caylee missing for so long while she was out having a good time, the fact that her mother said her car smelled like a dead body and then it was indeed found that there were traces of chloroform and decomposition....And can someone explain to me the deal about how they now say Caylee drowned? I still don't understand why if yor child tragically drowned you would wrap her mouth with duct tape, place a sticker on it (stickers duct tape and bags found in HER house)... I do agree that the whole thing has turned into a media circus. But just from the solid facts, not opinions, she seems guilty to me... I just don't get it. One of the jurors said they were "sick to their stomach" about the verdict. If everyone thinks she's guilty why wasn't she found guilty? What do you think about all this? (And please no rude comments and don't tell me it's in the wrong category. I genuinely want to see what other parents think...thanks) Belle- no one is forcing you to answer questions about it. i'm entitled to ask it if i want to. and i've only asked this 1 question about it, not fifty. and to the person who said they would rather see one guilty person walk free than an innocent person be executed- that is exactly why I am against the death penalty. Let em rot in jail. Death is quick...Sitting alone with just your thoughts of what you have done for years? That's punishment. whatever happened, she is guilty of something. if Caylee really did die "accidentally" and she taped up her own daughter, threw her in a bag and in the woods, THAT is disgusting. she should rot in jail for that alone ! for God's sakes she didn't wait 10 or 15 minutes she didn't even get reported missing for a MONTH! And if my child died accidentally, idk what I'd do but I sure as s*** wouldnt wrap her in duct tape with a sticker and toss her in the woods like garbage. I also wouldn't bang the cop that is supposed to be in charge of her investigation and go out partying every night. Call me crazy but hey that's just me. Her whole cock and bull story is irrelevant anyway because she did it...that's my opinion and i'm entitled to it just like you are entitled to yours so stop telling me I'm wrong.

Public Comments

  1. she's guilty all the way the jury was on some drugs or something
  2. Beautiful women shouldn't go to jail. The trial was mainly watched by bitter old women.
  3. I'm not a parent but I'm so sick of the questions about it. She was found not guilty and nothing you do or say will change that. I'm tired of people dwelling on it. Move on with your own life. It was a very sad story but what are you going to do? Post 50 questions about it online.. It's over now, so what's to talk about?
  4. the verdict made me sick too...
  5. I believe she is guilty, however the prosecution did not have a solid case against her, they could not prove beyond a reasonable doubt that she killed her daughter. what I mean by not having a solid case is that they left too many questions unanswered, maybe in hopes that the defense wouldn't bring it up, but the defense did. I'm not gonna worry about Casey being free, it will catch up to her. There are alot of people in this world who wish her harm, and Karma is a B&*%$h
  6. whos Casey Anthony?
  7. I don't think ANYONE has a doubt that she was guilty, but by law they cannot say she is guilty just because she seems guilty. There has to be actual proof (and there is, but they can't exactly call it that.) I believe strongly that she killed her. I could never go partying if I knew my little girl was in trouble. Just remember that God knows the truth about what happened, and he knows how to deal with this. She didn't truly "get away" with her crime.
  8. did you hear she is already looking into book deals and tv deals. congrats america we did it once again
  9. Besides a body, the State of Florida only had circumstantial evidence. No cause of death, no time of death, no place of death, not even a motive. Those are huge holes that need to be filled, and they failed to bring about a case that could fill those holes competently "without a reasonable doubt." The news frenzy caused by Nancy Grace and her ilk only hurt the State of Florida's argument. There was such a public outcry for justice that I do not doubt that evidence gathering was rushed and/or done incorrectly. Also, the State of Florida was really only interested in prosecuting for Murder with possible death penalty. They really failed in this.
  10. I would have hung that jury. There is no doubt about it!
  11. She was found not guilty because there wasnt enough proof. Neither side had enough proof to prove their story about what happened. In my opinion she is guilty of some thing that happened to her. But lets not forget that her dad is a retired cop. The fact that their was no evidance on the duck tape or body or sticker seems suspicious if you ask me while her dad was a cop. It is possible that something happened to Caylee and it was an accident or someone other then the mother did it and the dad covered it up and tried to put the blame on Casey. The sad part about all of this is the fact that no one will ever know the truth about what happened to Caylee.
  12. Again, the American public has forgotten that under our legal system a person is presumed innocent until proven guilty. That's proven in a court of law, and not in the press or on endless TV segments. Not only that, but the state must prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt. Obviously, the jurors, who heard ALL the testimony did not think the State had met its obligation. I'd rather see an occasional guilty person go free than execute an innocent person. There's no "do-overs' in an execution..... I want those guarantees in place if I'm ever wrongfully accused of a crime!
  13. There is one thing to fell in your gut that someone is guilty and another to prove it in court. What happened here is that mostly everyone feels it but they werent able to prove it. They couldnt prove it was her that killed the child, or even exactly how she died.. They dont have any real evidence that ties her into killing her beyond reasonable doubt... Do I think she did it? yes. Do I think the jury mishandled the case? not really.. I would love to see her convicted but with what the prosecution had to show, it didnt really prove anything.. I would have loved to see her being convicted of childabuse and even mishandling a body ( or however you say it..) I mean how can it be that she wasnt charged with it, hiding the body in a trunk and then burying it in the woods somewhere?? But no, I'm not really that surprised they came back with not guilty..
  14. It is a victory for the American Justice System. The Prosecution was unable to prove BEYOND A REASONABLE DOUBT that Anthony murdered her daughter. She was tried FOR MURDER. They did not PROVE that she physically murdered her daughter herself with her own two hands. It is possible the child did drown and these people are so dysfunctional and stupid they handled it the opposite way normal people would. Anthony was NOT on trial for being a liar or for being stupid or for being a terrible mom...she was on trial for MURDER. "she seems guilty to me..." And to me as well. My gut feeling says she murdered her daughter. Thank god the American Justice System does not convict people of crimes based on a jurist's gut feeling when there is little or no facts or solid evidence to PROVE that the accused commited the crime they are accused of. If that was the case we would no longer need prosecutors, defending lawyers, jurists or judges...all we need is Nancy Grace using her gut feeling to decide if someone is guilty or not...and that is one damn scary thought. No, the system worked. Yes a few who are guilty will walk away...but the vast majority of them do not. And yes a few who are not guilty are found guilty...but the vast majority who are not guilty are found not guilty and that is because guilt MUST be proven, by the prosecution, beyond a reasonable doubt. Accidents do happen...and sometimes when they do happen parents are not the most rational of thinkers. And Prosecutors are not infallible gods without an agenda, only seeking the truth...many of them will and do set a prosecution in motion due to a biased opinion. Just imagine if your child died in an accident and you were so overcome with shock or grief at the time that you did not call 911 immediately and some Prosecutor looking to make a name for him/herself as tough against "bad" or neglectful parents decides you waited 10-15 minutes because you murdered your kid and were thinking up excuses. Would you be willing to just let the judge decide your fate based on the judges gut feeling?
  15. She is not guilty according to how our laws are applied in our country. There wasn't enough evidence to convince the jury that Casey committed murder. Thinking someone is guilty and knowing someone is guilty are two entirely difference concepts. Thinking does not require any evidence and usually coupled with circumstantial evidence. Knowing requires fact based data that is conclusive. It must have been difficult as a juror to separate data driver decisions versus their emotions and all the circumstantial evidence. With all the evidence the jury was allowed to consider, the jury concluded she was guilty of providing false information to law enforcement. Don't blame the jury. I'm appalled at Casey's actions. She may have been in shock and denial. I understand the shock theory of not knowing what to do. Imagine an small jet flying and a passenger walks to the exit door and jumps out. The pilot walks out notices the door ajar and closes it. The passengers thought they notified the pilot but apparently shock mislead them. I would have stopped her and would have made sure that the pilot knew that "someone just jumped out of the plane." So shock affect people in strange ways. We bring our children into this world and have the responsibility to raise them in a safe environment. It is unfortunate that Caylee wasn't given a safe place to grow.
  16. It's a shame that the circumstantial evidence wasn't enough and that the corpse was too far decomposed to have any of the mothers DNA on it... No doubt in my mind she did do it.
  17. I am not a parent, but I am totally disgusted by the verdict. She's guilty and justice was not served. Karma's going to get her and that evil monster will get what's coming to her. R.I.P Caylee
  18. 1st let me say I think she is guilty. But in my opinion the prosecutors failed. They should of never brought in cans of smell. I had trouble swallowing that. And it was also brought up that these so called experts have never done this before. How can you have experts swear to something if they never did it before. If you are looking for what went wrong in this trail you need to look at the prosecutor. Why do you think he just quit his job? Because he failed that little girl.
  19. I feel that she killed a child a walked for it. I am not one of those people who just assumes shes guilty because she did some questionable things or because everyone else thinks so, for example Im unsure is Madeleine Mccans parents had anything to do with her disappearance, they might have, they might have not, but in this case, there is just so much against her, the fact that she never reported her child missing, that she lied a hundred times and was caught in the act of lying, that the child was found nearby with materials from her house, that she has never really said what happened the day that she went missing, that she had to have something to do with it, she should have gotten at least second degree. In the end though, thats just the way it works in the law, you are innocent until completely proven guilty and 99.9% of the evidence was circumstantial, she could just be a really sucky mom who didnt think to report that her daughter was missing who lies a lot. In the end, it doesnt really matter, a little girl is dead and theres nothing they could ever do to her, whether they lock her up in jail or execute her, that could even start to make up for that or put it right.
  20. Once again the justice system has failed. This time it failed a 2 year old little girl. Why? Because 12 people wanted to go home early, instead of doing the right thing. Twelve people not from Orlando, showed up to court, ready to go home, and in return freed a killer. A killer who had tons of evidence pointing towards her, and lied numerous times about the disappearance and murder of her child. Yet, 12 jurors thought going home early was more important than keeping a psychotic killer behind bars for life. Another reason for the not guilty verdict that fast. Had they voted guilty, people wouldn't be coming to them for interviews and potential book deals. One of them has even said that he has 5 figure deal in the works. With a guilty verdict, no one would care about their thoughts. A guilty verdict isn't shocking. Not guilty is. Considering not one jury member took notes during the trial, asked questions, or looked at tapes during deliberation. I'd say it's a safe bet they wanted out to profit from it. I hope they can live with it, when Casey takes another victim.
