Is it really that expensive to live in San Diego, Ca?

I plan in moving there when i graduate and anyone who i tell that so laughs and says good luck. I have been there several times on vacation the prices dont vary that much from arizona which is where i live. Ive also looked at condos on craigslist and they arent that badly priced.. so if u have lived in San Diego let me know if its really that pricey. Thanks!

  1. uh yeah
  2. Yo T-Man- I split my time between Buckeye, AZ and San Diego. The groceries are about the same, the power bill is cheaper in San Diego, gas is about 12% more in SD. Now for the shock: I have a 2br apt in Pacific Beach that costs $1400 per month. I have a 4500 sf house in Buckeye that cost $1400/mo. You can buy this house right now for $124,000. The only difference between the two places is the ocean. (Obviously we know that the ocean influences the land temperatures.) Golfer Shock: Golf courses in AZ that play at 7500 yards are $29, try playing Torrey for that price. Especially if you do not nave a California/San Diego resident card. SD rapes visitors on golf fees. AZ does not do that. Since living in the two cities has become real it is a shame how San Diego tries to cover its financial losses by taxing visitors. It will backfire eventually. SD better be careful. The city is pricey only because they haven't got good people running it. Everyone has fallen into that OC/SOCAL TV mentality and accepted the false image that marketing firms have created. The bottom will fall out someday. I Like AZ better.
