Is Boston Housing Authority a good choice for my career?

I have a potential job opportunity with the Boston Housing Authority. I've heard good things, I've heard bad things. Please let me know if you think this is a good stepping stone for a future municipal job, or career-suicide. Thanks.

1. Depends, if you like dealing with long term unemployed people.
2. That depends. What will you be doing? Usually government jobs are pretty stable. Is the salary worth it? Take the job, at least try it out before you decide it is not for you. I am from Boston and would kill to have a government job right now.
