How do you respond to someone looking for a roommate on craigslist?

I've lived with friends or been assigned roommates before but this is the first time I have to go to craigslist for a roommate or apartment. I found one listing that I know is in a safe neighborhood and everything but I just don't know what I should say to her in the first email.... Do you list everything about yourself or just say "I saw your apartment listing on craigslist, i'm interested in seeing the place. I'll be in the neighborhood Friday if you have time"? What would you say?

1. Ask to see the place at your time and not there`s and be sure to bring a few friends. Never know with Craig's list. Just state you are interested in looking at the possibility of the room to rent.
