To what extent do employment agencies in the U.K have preference to non U.K workers?

I have personally experienced Employment agencies in Glasgow who when i applied for work had foreign nationals interveiw me from Eastern Europe who clearly had a bias towards employing those from Eastern Europe and Africa, i am not being racist but stating fact, i can name two agencies Kelly services and Manpower. does any other people have similar experiences in the U.K? EDIT:ROBBIE KEANE IS GOD, I have lived and worked all over Ireland doing tradesmen jobs and non skilled and electronics works with agencies, there has always been a free movement of workers since the early 20th century between the U.K and Ireland, i dont think workers form these countries were ever an issue in either countries, however since the E.U accesion states came into the jobs markets in 2004 there has been a bias towards employment agencies in both the U.K and Ireland to employ Eastern European workers, and in many cases actually opening offices in Poland and Latvia to exclusivley recruit workers from these countries, in effect denying uk. and Irish workers any chance of earning a living, this is pure capitalism and another of the drawbacks entailed via being under E.U free movement of people/workers and employment laws. Eastern European workers will earn at least 4 times what they would earn at home and thats even on minimum wage, then tax back etc, it has rendered hundred

1. Recruitment agents work on commission. If they work on bigotry then they are idiots.
2. this is capitalism, as a free country business operates to make profit, morals or principles play little or no part in the pursuit of wealth
3. I've used Scottish agencies over in Scotland i didn't feel any resentment against myself as a foreign national (i'm Irish) on a working holiday. They got me work i made them money as a skilled tradesman with papers. This was just before the eastern Europeans got into the EU. When i came home to Ireland i noticed a difference, all the British agencies opened offices over in Ireland and they only wanted foreign migrants, the local agencies followed suit as well. I used to be on good terms with two local agencies and they dropped my services like a hot turd. Eastern Europeans have a strangle hold on agency jobs, the work is there but nobody local is getting a look in. I'm sure it's the same over in Britain now as well. Personally i don't rate all these foreign migrants as decent workers. It quantity not quality for agencies, they can supply the numbers and if they have a 50/50 percentages OK sort of workers over crap workers they still make big money. Irish agencies are just as bad, the biggest in Ireland Grafton has offices in Eastern Europe, they fly them over to Ireland to flood the job market

Probably as far as 'placement' is concerned (commissions earned) - non UK workers are 'less trouble' than UK workers - who are (seemingly) far to independent in the work place and make 'more demands' regarding their employment.......right or wrong. The employment freedom attitudes of the UK workers don't go down well with these employers - who have 'cottoned-on' to the fact - that 'they' get a better work rate % from non UK workers compared to UK workers. The UK worker has a bad reputation among employers - whether thats fair or not - these employers have the 'whip-hand' in choosing who works for them - so 'they decide' who they will employ. The emancipation/progression of the UK workers has become a 'curse' in the modern day employment workplace - and that is shown by your quoted examples + around the country. Looking in general at 'all' companies employment policies - they all contain huge amounts of none UK workers under the guise of the skills needed.!! Until UK workers attitudes/work rate % improve (which they won't) this problem will get worse - whilst this argument does not apply to all UK workers.....it does apply to a huge % and..........all get tarred with the 'same brush'.!!
5. Its exactly the same here in Wales. They take care of their own through the back door. Its disgusting, but the British are such gutless idiots that they wont do anything about it.
