How do you tell the difference between a 94 acura integra rs, gs, and the gsr?

I am going to look at a car and on the back were it would normally say RS LS or GSR there is nothing. I know the car has leather seats and a power sunroof. 1. The RS is very easy to tell because it doesn't come with a moon roof unless it was installed as after market. The mirrors are not body colored either. The GS from the outside looks like the GSR except the GSR is only made in a 5sp. If your looking at a GS 5 sp. and the logo is missing or changed then you can pop the hood and see if it has the VTEC engine 170 horsepower vs. the GS 140 horsepower. It will say VTEC on the engine. I really doubt anyone would take a GS 5 sp. and swap the engine to a VTEC. The car you're looking at here says its a Washington car with REBUILT on the title. I'm from Calif. so Washington laws may be different. I don't know if that means it's a salvaged car. If it's salvaged that means it was an insurance write off with more physical damage to the car than what is was worth at the time. If it's a salvaged title then the dollar value of the car is worth about 50% less than a similiar car with a normal title. You may want to check with your dept. of vehicle just to be sure on this title with the words REBUILT on it. The way to verify for sure of model is by the VIN number(Vehicle Identification number). If the VIN number on the car says DC239 as part of the 17 digits then you know it's a GSR for sure. I hope this helps you. You can e-mail me if you have any more questions on Acuras.

3. Dont forget LS, SE and Type-R. Well this is very easy to tell. 1st of all, RS, LS, SE, GS all come with the same B18B1 NON-VTEC motor, 142hp @ 7000RPM. The GS-R comes with a B18C1 DOHC VTEC motor, 170hp @ 8000RPM. The Type-R comes with a B18C5 DOHC VTEC, 195hp @ 8200RPM. Aside from the rims, tires, motors etc.. You can tell by the VIN # if the 6th number in the VIN is a 4, its an RS, LS, SE, GS, 4 means that its a non-VTEC. 2 - GS-R/Type-R DOHC VTEC 7 - LS, GS sedan. Non-VTEC 8- GS-R sedan. DOHC VTEC Now to tell the difference, besides motors, RS is the base model, and doesn't come color matched. (side and mirrors are black) also, the RS doesn't come with a moon roof, cruise control, nothing is power (manual locks, manual windows etc) this is basically the stripped down model, or the type-r shell. The LS is what most people prefer because it offers a little luxury and not so obsolete. The LS is "Luxury Sport" and everything is powered. Some comes with a moonroof. Also the LS has cruise control, and well...the preferred one. The SE, is the same as the LS, and it's a GS model now. The SE again, teh same as an LS and comes with a badge on the rear hatch that says special edition. It also has the wording special edition somewehre in the interior. The GS is grand sport and its the exact same as an LS and SE, except the GS comes with leather stock and a rear spoiler. GS-R is completely different, it has cloth or leather, a power sun/moon roof, power everything, the DOHC VTEC engine, only a 5 speed manual, and comes with a badge in the rear hatch that says DOHC VTEC. Type-R is the highest of them all, and the most rare. Type-R has the B18C5, and the 5 lug conversion. Has same features as an RS, but more powerful and light. Thats about all you need to know about the trims, because my fingers are tired from typing all this. LOL. Well yea..Hope you find out. =D

5. Well the GSR did come in auto by the way, exterior other then the RS not having a sunroof vs the LS/GS/GSR. Pop open the hood look at the motor code it should read B18B1 for RS/GS/LS and B18C1 for GSR also the gsr should have a weird looking intake manifold. Also looking at the title helps, the GSR should come in vtec and should have that on writing on the valve cover. If it was a type R it would have a 5-lug instead of the 4-lug and sued seats
6. I guess your interested in a genuine GSR... Vin number is the best way to tell... Type R's were not available in 94 just GSR's...
