How much should I ask for when trying to sell? Is this Craigslist ad fine?
KBB says $5770 for a private seller. I am thinking this a reasonable asking price as I expect to negotiate. I would like to get $5000 at the VERY least. But, I am unsure if that's a reasonable expectation. The car REALLY is mechanically sound and well maintained. I bought it new. It was stolen in 2003 by Joy Riders. From that incident, the only thing wrong was a missing guard rail, which I promptly replaced with a new part via the dealer. However, CarFax is listing it as an accident and I think this is scaring people. The only other issues is a cracked windshield and some of the text has partially rubbed off a few of the radio buttons. http://seattle.craigslist.org/see/car/613298700.html Any suggestions on how I can make this ad better? Or should I go to AutoTrader, classifieds or EBay instead?

- yes it looks pretty good to me. i would suggest Auto Trader because thats the first place i look when looking for a vehicle
- I personally think that is a reasonable price, with it had been stolen from joy riders it cost has gone down because of the windshield and guard rail. there is not much more u could do about the text because sooner or later that would come off. some people are going to try and get the price lowered even more. i think in the ad you shouldn't mention the price but instead you should have people e-mail you and ask you the price this way people don't look at your ad and not want it.
- I would fix the windshield before you try to sell it. It cost maybe $200 to get that done. If you have the maintenance receipts mention that in the ad. It will ensure buyers you took good care of the car.
- The price depends on your market where you live. In my area that car is way to expensive for what it is and would not sell. but it does take time to sell. Dont go with ebay with that price you would spend $ and get no results at $5000
- Get the windshield fixed. Here in Florida the insurance companys do it no charge to you and no premium increase. Check with your insurance co.
