Where do i start with my apartment search? NYC?

I am looking for a one bedroom apartment in nyc washington heights. That doesn't need to do credit check. I don't want to pay a real estate agent because I feel like I can do this myself. The most I will pay for rent is 950. Plzzzz helpppp asapp!

2. A good way to start is by looking in the classifieds that would give you a range of avaible apartments for rent or one that can be purchase. 3. The spammers like you. You will not find what you are looking for. Rent is higher then that, and all of the landlords are going to check credit.
4. You might be able to find a no fee apartment for that much. Maybe. Try Rentenna.com and see whats available. But it's unlikely that any landlord will skip the credit check unless you offer to prepay the first few months to one year of rent.
5. A 1BR for 950 might be slightly difficult to find. You might have to go out into Queens or farther up into Inwood for that. Try Padmapper - you can filter your results anyway you want, and see which neighborhoods offer apartments that fit your criteria. It uses Google Maps to work.
