How do you find an apartment when you currently live four hours away from where you are going? I feel like there has to be an easy way...Haha.

  1. Go to craigslist and bring up the city and apartment rentals that you are looking for in your search - also try finding the local newspapers on the web and check it out. Hope this gives you a few ideas - Good luck.
  2. Line up some by reading the local papers on line. Make appointments to see them. Take a day and drive out there.
  3. i am in the same situation but it is only 2 hours away. i have already taken a day to drive down there and check out the areas and stuff... i drove in lots of circles and decided that i wanted to live in the northern area, past a certain road, because the other areas seemed sketchy. i have been searching online; craigslist, apartments.com, padmapper.com, mynewplace.com... etc. these are my favorite search sites though. after i find one i am interested in, i check it on apartmentratings.com. this site is very helpful. many people only post bad things on there, but you can get an idea of what the worst is. people will say noisy neighbors, paper thin walls, cockroaches, leaks, bad maintenance, bad staff. you can decide what you can handle! i plan on taking one more trip to my destination before the actual move to scope out several places in one day. hopefully it all works out!
  4. there's really nothing to worry about Chris. What i sugges you do is get a really good real estate agent. The ones i am recommending will not charge you a arm and a leg and you are sure to get exactly what you want. These two links should help http://www.apartmentrenting.info/article-sitemap/ http://www.bestrealestateagents.info/
