At your wedding, do you have to include the photographer & Deejay in the final head count for dinner?
So, do you have to feed the photographer and the deejay?

- Traditionally it is expected to feed both the photographer and the Deejay..I did at my wedding.
- Traditionally, yes. But, ask them first. I know our DJ wasn't interested in eating--he said he wasn't paid to eat. But, yes, traditionally, you do include them. Some even list it in their contracts.
- You are expected to feed all of your vendors at the wedding. All caterers sell "vendor meals" at substantially reduced prices. In my wedding, catering was $300 for each guest, vendor meals were $32 dollars each. remember, photgraphers and dj's are going to be at your wedding for 5 hours and they need nourishment. Most vendors require for you to feed them and it is stipulated in your contract that you do so. They do not sit with the guest, venues have a designated area for that. You can even arrange for delivery to be brought over if your venue allows you to do so. Some venues only allow their own food, so ask for vendor meals. Good luck
- This may sound bad, but I' am NOT feeding the vendors at my wedding. I am paying them for a service. I am paying them for 5 hours and I expect them to WORK for 5 hours. The end. I am not about to pay for a meal for them. Tradition be damned. I will pay for their meals as soon as they cut that cost right out of what they're charging me. If I give the DJ a free meal, then I have to give one to the photographer. And his assistant. And the Videographer, and their assistant. And the Waiters. And the Caterer. And the Cake Maker. And and and and and. NO. Call me rude, but I'm not doing it. And you shouldn't have it unless you WANT to.
- wow @stacy, you are so rude. What would u do if you were working as a photographer or a dj and didnt get fed for 5 hours? wouldnt that make u sick to the stomach? think about it
- Usually you do. Most venues will prepare vendor meals for free or cheap. I am a wedding photographer, and it is actually in my contract that I get a meal and I sit with the guests. Different vendors handle this differently, so you should check with their policies. Edit: Stacy, that is not rude, but it is in my contract that I get to eat, so if you didn't provide food, I would pack up and head to the closed restaurant and return in an hour. The choice would be yours. Although based on your attitude, good luck finding vendors willing to work with you.
