What does an apartment rent consist of and what bills are not included?

I live in Houston, Texas and I'm trying to see if I can manage w/ $1200 left for rent (1 bedroom) and other bills... What does rent include and what other bills will be left? Thanks in advance.

1. The biggest costs are rent, renters insurance, and electric/heating bills unless that's included.
2. It all depends on the lease. I have lived in places where water, heat, electric and gas were included; my current lease only includes water and heat. Also, don't forget about cable/internet/phone.
3. There is no standard. Some places included all utilities, some include some, and some include none. But you need to potentially consider the costs for parking, gas, electric, water/sewer, phone, Internet, cable, etc....
