Can cheap apartments still be found in New York City?

Hi all, I am looking for a apartment in New York City. I would like to live in either Queens (Forest Hills, Astoria, Rego Park or Sunnyside) or Brooklyn (Park Slope, Sunset Park, Williamsburg, Greenpoint, Cobble Hill, or Caroll Gardens). Can anyone let me know of any resources to help me look for one? (Other than craigslist???) I would rather not go the broker route if I don't have too. Right now I am looking to spend anywhere from $800-$1,100 a month on rent and utlities. I am looking for either a one bedroom apartment or a large studio. Let me know! Thanks! :)

  1. lol nothing in that range in NYC
  2. I very much doubt it to be honest!
  3. Im sure you could find one, as long as you want to live in the ghetto. Where you want to live, no way in heck would you find that, and if you did find some for that cheap, people would have already found them at that price.
  4. i would say not because it is expensive in NYC and the apartments are like little box's too.
