New York City rentals?

I am looking for warehouse rentals in NYC to use as artist studio space. Other than craigslist - any recommendations? Where is cheap whse space around a $1/s.f. range for spaces up to about 2000 s.f.? Either spaces are way too small for the $ or way too large!

1. $1 a square foot for that size you are probably out of luck. Check Brooklyn though, they were leasing some space by the navy yards pretty cheap last year.
