I have No Idea How To Meet Other Lesbians?

I am originally from New York City and I moved to Virginia with my girlfriend. So far I have not found any other lesbians anywhere. I am close to DC and there are areas there like in NY but where I live, there seems to be no bars or clubs or gay/lesbian hangouts. Where do I go besides Craigslist to meet other lesbians who arent going to ask for a 3sum with their boyfriend and just want to hang out and make new friends? I miss NY so much!

1. the dupont circle area. there are lots of hangouts and shops for gays/lesbians.
2. i have the same problem 2 gurl....ain't that a shame....i wish i had somebody to talk 2 n wat not 2 find places 2 go..but n e way try looking ^ places on the internet where you live or go and explore im tryna give you the best advice i can...lol but shooot...n e way i hope u find a place if you do let me kno...lol j/k
3. I have used planetout.com personals to find friends in a new area. However what has been even more helpful for me is to search online for local gay newspapers, pride stores, liberal book stores in your area, they may not be obvious, but they are there. I joined a lesbian reading group and made some friends there and I was also lucky that my employer, a very large company had a gay employee group. Finding local friends will also help to point you to local bars or clubs.
