List Only

Which is the biggest or best of the craiglist site to advertise on?

I want to advertise something on craigslist and I want as much exposure as possible -- national exposure if possible. I can't list on all of the individual city sites. What is the best thing to do? List it on the "New York" version of craigslist? Or the "San Francisco" version? They don't have a "national" version, do they? What's the best thing to do.

  1. If you want national exposure I would stick to ebay. Craigslist has a firm policy on dealing locally. They encourage their users to not buy anything from people that aren't local because that protects them from scams. I would try your luck elsewhere.
  2. well you don't have much of a choice. they don't have an international craigslist. you'd have to go to every individual one....
  3. I would say that Craigslist would not be the best venue for your advertising. Craigslist is more geared towards regional networking/services/products and is not really suited for a nationwide advertising campaign.
  4. well most people probably look on their local craigslist, perhaps the neighboring city sites. It's hard to tell which gets the most exposure. i'm in Sacramento and it's blowing up down her in cow town. I think what most people end up doing is paying someone to sit and post it individually on each site. There isn't a national site or a way to post to all craigslist simultaneously. sorry...
  5. well i mean, its craigslist, you can actually post ur advertisement on both cities if u want. i mean when i want to advertise a sale of smthng i go on every where, Facebook, Myspace, Craigslist ect... {i find facebook the best; go to market place. and if u post something everyone should be able to see it, even on there home pages]
  6. I would list your stuff on all the major city sites. use diferent email addresses if you have to. Its worth it, especially if its a free ad. I se CL all the time. I get many sales on it. The site has huge traffic as you well know. Good luck
  7. I have tried alot of them Seattle was the most responsive to my employment offered ad. On both the Sacramento and Memphis sites, if I responded to a man's ad for anything , a new car, or employment, they always seemed to think it was a potential date, at least that's the way they, acted, feel free to email me with questions about that organization. I have made no progress in my sexual harassment suit. Even the attorney from Tennessee asked for my home number. Go figure...
  8. craigslist is for local dealings - if you want national exposure, look elsewhere personally I mark postings as "spam" or "miscategorized" when they are not reasonably local
