I am looking to start doing a daycare ...?

I just moved up to Orange County from Rockland where I had my own babysiting business out of my home. I have many years of experience . What is the best way to advertise besides posting flyers?? I already posted on craigslist, babysitters.com and sittercity.com anything else?

1. Word of mouth is the best advertising. Tell everyone you know and hand out business cards.
2. I previously owned 2 daycares with my wife. I admit she did all the work. When starting we took flyers to local hospitals (nurses), schools (teachers), and large businesses. Also, to the grocery stores that had public posting areas. Any where you can reach young working women. We never has to advertise after the first year. Word of mouth is your best friend, as long as you keep your moms happy.

Hi welcome to my world, Try the elementary schools in your neighborhood as many will put you on a list as parents are always looking for daycare providers in there area, local restraunts (especially geared for kids), YMCA (community gyms), put an ad in the local newspaper- those local flyer papers, hand out business cards or just leave a few at the dentist office or other places where kids hang out, word of mouth-(so tell everyone & anyone), could even try Children's World or any other large daycare- (as they usually don't do kindergarten's or school age kids), local businesses in your area. Have a good day. :0) Additional Details: works on the internet calling daycare providers(referral service)-in Mn you would need to be licensed, take classes-driving, sids class, CPR training, classes to update depending on how many kids you had, parenting classes,, but then you would be on the county's daycare providers list, get help with the food program etc.
4. Neigherhoods in Orange County have a tendacy to be very condensed. A couple of city blocks will provide a nicely populated area for you to begin our business, & word of mouth is our best advertisement!!! Make friends with the more popular hair stylists in your area, the meat marketer, the local cafe, church, etc.. Wide expense may be a waste of money for our day care. Try local stuff first!!!
