turbo charger?
i've been wanting to get a turbocharger for my 2000 impreza but its way too damn expensive. so i found one on craigslist for $200: http://sacramento.craigslist.org/car/754020839.html it was just for an eclipse originally and i'm not sure if it will fit on my impreza. are there specific turbos for specific cars?

- Yes. Different car's use different flanges on the turbos so they usually have to be vehicle specific. The posting on the link you provided was removed so I don't know if it will fit. You can check out NASIOC.com or iwsti.com for good used stuff for your car. By the way, are you talking about a 2000 Impreza with a turbo already, or one in the US with no turbo at all? The non turbo Impreza's are not a good motor to be adding turbo kits to. Even when new, they were only good for about 6lbs of boos and older motors will handle less so that;s not very much power at all.
- Like is said last time. You should really build the motor up first. Your motor was never meant to be turbo charged. If you cant afford to do this now save and wait! None of this is going to be cheap. Even if you find a cheap turbo for your car. That's only the tip of the ice burg. there are allot of other things you will need to get! If you put a custom turbo kit together and don't know what your doing your going to have reliability issues. Plus if you don't build up the engine before your turbo your going to end destroying your motor and that's going to be way more $$$. this is only my opinion but it is what it is. All i can say now is good luck! PS. don't get a turbo that isn't made for Subaru. even if you get a sweet deal on i.t after the cost of modifying it you mite as well have got one that was for a Subaru.
