I am 20 y/o and trying to get a solid 9-5 job, which i have never had before.. i dont have a lot of experience, and am nervous going into the interview because professionally I dont have a lot to offer, but i am a hard worker and this looks like a great thing for me. - If this job is going to deal with the public, remember to smile. A positive, helpful attitude is the most important thing for a front-desk person! If the customer sees a smiling face and hears a cheerful voice, it's golden. Dress conservatively. No flashy jewelry or "trendy" clothes. Ask yourself if your outfit would look out of place in a law firm's offices. This is a business we're talking about--a business where people are going to make your boss responsible for a lot of their money. Look the part of a competent professional, even if you've never bought a stock in your life. Relax. Be confident. Be respectful. Don't overdo anything, and don't make excuses. So what if this will be your first 9-to-5 job? Don't bring it up; focus on what he's asking about. If he brings it up, admit it and move on. After the interview, send a thank-you note. Something brief, handwritten and hand-addressed, just to say thanks for the opportunity. It shows thoughtfulness. If you take care of details like that, he can trust you to take care of his customers as well.
- Your role is going to be that of on an Administrative Assistant to a Financial Advisor. The functions of an Administrative assistant are :- This may include supervising an administrative or clerical unit, responsibility for an administration program providing various services to agency customers, and similar duties and responsibilities. It may also include responsibility for supervising an assigned staff of administrative staff in performing duties involving the processing of applications for maintaining various records, preparing correspondence or other materials, and similar activities.
- I agree with the other answers. I would just add that if you know a lot of people and are good networking, she would really appreciate it because that would mean that you can bring in more business, Although bringing more business is not your responsibility, do you know anyone who wouldn't love someone who increases her paycheck? Have fun! (it will help too)
