Looking for Nice Newer Apts in Bay Area close to Hercules/Pinole, CA HELP!?

Hi, I just got a new job in Richmond CA, im from Sacramento, CA. I'm asking for you guys help! I'm looking for a nice place to live in the surrounding areas. I'd prefer North of Richmond, cause I may have to drive to Chico every other weekends to see my girlfriend. I'm looking for a nice newer place to stay in that area. I know that Richmond is hella ghetto, so I'm not looking there. Any one with any suggestions for a nice set of apartments. I have been to craigslist, and all apartments sites but haven't found anything really nice. When i mean nice I mean: apts buildin in the last 10 years or so Nice kitchen NIce neighborhood Nice community Thanks

1. Both Hercules (yuck!) and Pinole are older communities, you will not find anything new there. Both cities are not that much better then Richmond (but they are better). You might try San Rafael, it is just across the bridge. Other then that you can go down highway 4 (not crowded in that part) to the Pleasant Hill or Martinez area. Both would be easy commutes.
