Austin Paralegals are you having issues with jobs posted on Craigslist?
I keep running into issues with paralegal job postings on Austins Craigslist & staffing firms. Most of the jobs posted don't list a name, they only request a resume and then you later find out it is with a staffing firm. So far Ultimate Staffing & Ajilon suck!!! They take your resume and then you never hear from them again. Someone suggested linkedin.com but so far there is only one job posting. Does anyone have any suggestions on where else to look for a legitimate posting?

- The old fashioned way of finding a job in a particular market meant mailing out your resume along with a cover letter. I suggest this. You've got a phone book with names and addresses of law firms in and around Austin. Buy a box of envelopes and some nice quality paper. Print up a stack of resumes. Type a basic cover letter. Personalize each cover letter to the Human Resources manager of each individual law firm (You'll find out that person's name by calling the firm). Buy a roll of stamps and a nice pen. Make an afternoon of it. After one week, call the HR manager and ask if he/she got your letter and resume. Thank them for reading it (if they did) or offer to bring one by their office (if they say they didn't get it). This will take time but it sounds like you've already wasted a lot of that. It sounds like lawyers don't advertise on Craigslist to find paralegals. They may be looking for people who show more initiative (ie: people who use Snail Mail and follow up with a good, old-fashioned phone call).
