Should I go to Dubai to seek employment on a tourist visa?

I don't know anyone in Dubai, don't have any connections. I'm an American IT professional and don't speak Arabic, and single. I have heard of opportunities with great pay, and intrigued by the nature of the life. Should I secure a job interview before I travel, or go blindly and spend perhaps a month there, looking at the classifieds. The latter seems risky.

1. Why not? You can always return if you're unsuccessful, and call it a nice holiday in the sun. Don't move there if you're gay though. The UAE government is known to murder gay people.
2. Hi, sure you could come here on a visit visa, stay for 90 days and look for a job - but if it doesn't work, it was just wasting money. Here the "good" jobs with a good salary package you only get through connections or recruitment agencies. With you being an American wanting a great salary I see one problem. Indians are great IT professionals, too, but asking for a lower salary which is still much more than back in their homecountry. And these guys are doing a good job! Great pay you can expect getting employed by an American or European company which mostly offer beside the salary also housing, transportation and health care. This will make life in Dubai much more easier if you want to keep your living standard. Here are some links to check out.
